As you visit Merkato's spice market, you will put your bargaining skills to test with the savvy spice dealers. 

Located in Addis Ababa, Merkato is the largest open-air market in Africa covering several square kilometers. It is known for its vibrant atmosphere, colorful displays, and mouthwatering food stalls.

You will be presented with the challenge of baking the spongy injera bread, a traditional flatbread that is a staple food in Ethiopia

We will demonstrate step by step Ethiopia's unique coffee ceremony. 

An Ethiopian coffee ceremony is a traditional ritual where freshly roasted coffee beans are ground by hand, brewed in a clay pot called a "jebena," and served in small cups to guests in multiple rounds, signifying hospitality and community, with the act of roasting and serving the coffee considered an art form, often accompanied by the aroma of incense and considered a key social event in Ethiopian culture; the ceremony typically includes three rounds of coffee, with the first being the strongest and the last considered a blessing

Your tour will conclude with a tour of a local Ethiopian honey-wine ("Tej") bar, where you will have the opportunity to taste samples. Tej is a traditional Ethiopian honey wine that shares similarities with mead, being primarily made from fermented honey

The tour concludes with drop-off at your desired location in Addis Ababa
